Committee Members
Following are the current members of COMDA:
- Rochelle Bache, 42, of Encino, was appointed to the Committee on Dental Auxiliaries by Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger. Since 1989, she has served the University of California, Los Angeles Faculty Group Dental Practice, where she currently serves as management services officer III. Bache previously was a Registered Dental Assistant for the Warner Center Dental Practice from 1985 to 1989. She is currently licensed as a Registered Dental Assistant with Extended Functions. (appointed 11/8/06 - term expires 12/31/09)
- William Baker, 69, of Rancho Palos Verdes, was appointed to the Committee on Dental Auxiliaries by Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger and also serves on the Dental Board of California. From March 2005 to January 1, 2007 Mr. Baker served as a member and President of the Board of Directors of the West Basin Municipal Water District. Previously, he served for 35 years as a member of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, retiring as a Division Chief. He holds Masters Degrees in Criminal Justice and Public Communications from California State University Los Angeles and Pepperdine University respectively. (appointed 7/20/06 - term expires 12/31/08)
- Judith Forsythe, 42, of Riverside, has been a Registered Dental Assistant in the State of California since 1994. She currently holds the position of director of back office development for Pacific Dental Services, where she has worked since 1998. Previously, Forsythe was a Registered Dental Assistant for Dental Associates of Riverside from 1995 to 1998 and held the same position in the office of James W. Jacobson, D.D.S. from 1983 to 1994. She is a member of the American Dental Assistant Association. (appointed 11/6/06 - term expires 12/31/10)
- Debra Diaz, 50 of Salinas has served since 2006 as the Executive Director for Community Oral Health Services, formerly Appolonia Foundation for Children's Dental Health. From 2000 - 2006, Diaz was program director for the Children's Oral Health and from 1989 to 2000, was office manager and director of marketing and education for Dentistry for Infants, Children and Teenagers. Prior to that, she was a Registered Dental Assistant and office manager working for dentists from 1975 to 1989. (appointed 1/16/08 and term expires 21/31/10)
- Marlene Jacobus, 63 of Templeton was appointed to the Committee on Dental Auxiliaries on January 16, 2008. She has worked as a Registered Dental Hygienist for 38 years. (appointed 1/16/08 and term expires 21/31/2009)
- Rita Weisberg, DDS, 52, of Pacific Palisades has been a dentist in private practice since 1989. She is a member of the American Dental Association and California Dental Association. Weisberg also serves as the president of the Western Los Angeles Dental Society and Pierre Fauchard Academy and is the past president and board member for the Southern Academy of General Dentistry. (appointed 1/16/08 and term expires 12/31/2009)
